This combination tour bundles three of our most popular individual experiences into a single full day, designed for cruise passengers, business travelers and short-stay visitors who want to see the essentials of Paramaribo without spreading them across multiple days.

The morning is dedicated to the UNESCO-listed historic inner city, a 3 to 4 hour city tour partly walking and partly by vehicle, covering Dutch colonial wooden architecture, Independence Square, the synagogue and mosque standing side by side, the central market and the Maroon market. After a lunch break (own arrangement, recommendations provided), the afternoon moves to Peperpot Nature Park, a former coffee and cocoa plantation now reclaimed by rainforest and a reliable spot for sloth and monkey sightings. The day closes with a motorized pirogue excursion on the Suriname River from Leonsberg pier, departing in the late afternoon when the pink belly dolphins are most active.

Departure 8:00 AM, return approximately 6:00 PM.

Tour experience

What to expect

8:00 AM pickup from Paramaribo accommodation. The morning is the UNESCO city tour, 3 to 4 hours partly walking and partly by vehicle, covering Independence Square, the wooden Presidential Palace, Fort Zeelandia, the Palm Garden, St. Peter and Paul Basilica (one of the largest wooden buildings in the Western Hemisphere), the synagogue and mosque side by side, the Central Market and the Maroon Market.

Lunch break, own arrangement. The guide recommends several local restaurants in the inner city based on your preferences. Lunch is your own choice and at your own expense, this allows flexibility for dietary preferences and pacing.

Drive to Peperpot Nature Park, approximately 30 minutes from the city. Guided walk through the former coffee and cocoa plantation. Wildlife sightings commonly include sloths, squirrel monkeys, capuchins, agoutis and numerous bird species.

Late afternoon, transfer to Leonsberg pier for a dolphin spotting excursion by motorized pirogue on the Suriname River. The pink belly dolphins (Sotalia guianensis) are most active in the late afternoon. Sightings are likely but not guaranteed, dolphin behavior depends on tides and local conditions.

Return to your Paramaribo accommodation by approximately 6:00 PM.
