About TTG

Over 20 years on the ground.

We are the on-the-ground specialist for Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana, the least visited corner of South America.

Who we are
Founded in Paramaribo with one purpose, to open the Guianas to the world on the region's own terms.

Travel The Guianas is a Destination Management Company and tour operator based in Paramaribo, Suriname.

For over two decades, we have been the on-the-ground operator for travelers and travel professionals seeking access to Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana. We operate across three countries, three languages and three currencies, handling everything from multi-country guided packages to cruise ship shore excursions and corporate ground logistics.

Our story

Our Story

Travel The Guianas was founded in 2005 and has spent over 20 years building the operational infrastructure to move travelers across one of South America's most logistically complex regions. We started as a Suriname-focused operator and grew into a full three-country DMC, handling overland border crossings, domestic flights, river transport and remote fly-in access across the region. As our clients' appetite for the broader region grew, we extended operations to Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela.

That same operational depth now powers our cruise handling. We are the leading ground handler for expedition cruise lines and sailing vessels calling at Suriname, managing shore excursions, port logistics and passenger services for vessels of up to 220 passengers. Club Med, Swan Hellenic, Class Afloat, Explorer 2, Morgenster and Alex von Humboldt have all trusted us to deliver on the ground what they promise their guests at sea.

Full circuit

We run the full three-country circuit.

Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana each require different logistics, documentation and local expertise. We handle all three in-house.

240
km
Access

We access destinations others don't.

The Wildlife and Nature Resort sits 240 kilometers from the nearest road, reachable only by small aircraft. The Upper Suriname River puts guests overnight in working Maroon communities with 18th-century African diaspora roots. Kaieteur Falls in Guyana is reached by a scenic flight over 50 minutes of roadless rainforest.

20
years
Experience

We are the regional ground handler for expedition cruise lines.

We built the SOPs, the local relationships and the operational capacity to manage vessel arrivals reliably, from customs coordination to full-day shore excursion programming across multiple sites.
