The complex covers 700 square kilometers of coastal rainforest with launch pads, mission control, rocket assembly buildings and a museum.

The tour requires advance passport submission for security clearance, this is mandatory and cannot be processed on arrival.

Tour experience

What to expect

The tour begins at the Guiana Space Centre visitor entrance in Kourou. After security clearance (passport required), participants board a coach bus with a French-speaking site guide for a 2.5- to 3-hour tour.

The tour route depends on launch schedule and facility availability. Standard stops include:

- Jupiter mission control room (where launches are managed) - Ariane 6 launch pad (viewed from a distance, no entry to active pad areas) - Vega-C launch pad - Rocket assembly building (viewed from outside or interior, depending on launch schedule) - Space Museum (interactive exhibits, rocket models, mission history)

Tour commentary covers rocket technology, launch logistics, French Guiana's strategic importance for space operations and upcoming missions. Photography restrictions apply in certain areas (your guide will advise).

The tour is conducted entirely in French. English or Dutch translators available for USD 250 per group (covers both space centre tour and museum). Request at booking, subject to availability.
